Martin Hulbert describes his designs as ‘highly considered and insightful’, which is one reason why many of him projects are repeat business. With its early roots in hotel design and private houses, his practice is now broadening its horizons with garden designs and a furniture range. ‘Our goal is to retain our personal approach and continue to deliver unique projects,’ he says.
Today Designers shows you Chewton Glen Hotel – Tree Houses Suites by this incredible Interior Designer.
Interiors emphasize warmth and comfort, complemented by floor-to-ceiling windows with panoramic views. The houses are adaptable spaces, designed with both couples and families in mind and can, therefore, be booked either as separately or as a whole.
Each suite has a kitchenette, wood-burning fireplace, and private balcony with a hot tub while complimentary breakfast hampers are delivered each morning, giving guests the option to eat all their meals via “tree service.” There are also three, tree-house-only spa treatments, some of which use wild herbs, like lavender.
Each house contains two suites—coming in Studio, Loft, or Hideaway layouts—for a total of 12 suites.
Projects may be big or small. Martin retains a close relationship with past clients. Recent projects completed by the team include Chewton Glen hotel’s Treehouse Suites, winner of the International Interior Design award in 2012. Martin Hulbert has 25 years’ design experience. His degree in Spatial Design was followed by a wide variety of design projects, from prestige residential work, to cruise ships, to hotels.
