Cristian Mohaded is an Industrial Designer born in the Argentinian country side (Catamarca,1980) and graduated from the National University of Córdoba. Shortly after this he moved to Buenos Aires and formed the Mohaded Studio and Design Workshop.
Today Cristian Mohaded is a prolific product and interior designer and art director, and a benchmark for Argentinian Design. He is devoted to developing and designing products for national and international companies and has projects to his name for private clients and premium brands such as Roche Bobois, Gallery Serge Bensimon, Habitat and La Redoute. Nationally, he designed for Voila BA, El Espartano, Arquimadera, La Feliz, Imdi Lighting, Malba, Masisa, Inconcrete, Fog Concept, Y111 and Solantu, among others.
Throughout his career as a designer he has also won several design awards, such as Premio Vico Magistretti, De Padova (Italy), D&AD Global Student Award, Vitra Home (UK), Ternium Siderar (Argentina) and Salão Design Movelsul Brazil (Brazil) among others. He also participated in numerous national and international fairs and exhibitions. Recently the Twist Chair #2, (designed in collaboration with Arq.Ricardo Blanco) was selected to be part of the permanent design collection of the Musée Les Arts Décoratifs, this being the first product of Argentine design in this collection.
His work reflects a natural positive aesthetics and a contemporary style while focusing on the substance and subtleties of materials. He seeks the coexistence of the handicraft and the industry of different cultures in an elegant manner, which made the focus of his work on research and experimentation of a wide range of materials, techniques and concepts.
For him design is a game that deals with a process of expression and ingenuity that allows us to create, learn and transmit ideas; a tool for generating relationships, establishing connections and communication through personal sensitivity.
