It features a professional forum with prominent speakers from all over the world, as well as an extensive program of open events aimed at the broader audience – exhibitions, workshops, discussions, talks, screenings, parties, book openings, events for children, etc.
Sofia Design Week strives to serve as a platform which stimulates and supports the development of design professionals in Bulgaria. At the same time the festival aims to present and promote sustainable and sensible practices for better and beneficial visual environment from around the world.
Usually, design isn’t something most people associate with the Balkans. One of the goals of is to change this perspective, responding to the growing interest of large-scale design platforms in this region. Artists from this countries are creating interesting and different designs, and at this event, you can be in touch with them, tasting their culture and perspective.

At the Balkans, as the event says, East meets West, communism meets capitalism, and this mix is a fountain of inspiration for young designers. They use this different influences to create original products, moving against the unified cultural production.

This year, the Bazaar of offers a variety of small treasures to please every age and taste and will present a number of Bulgarian designers, local design shops and online retailors, all this washed down with music and drinks in a casual Sunday mood.
