Philippe Starck started very early drawing tables of his airplane building because of his father was an aeronautic engineer, born in 1949 in Paris.
When we talk in Interior Design is almost impossible not to talk about Philippe Starck. Is a citizen of the world from France that has fantastic skills as a designer, creator, and architect.
He has a vision that every object has to be is own shape whatever it takes. His mission is to make happier the largest number of people possible.
He prefers to work on his own instead of a group of people.
Starck’s style could be described as Contemporary. He is interested in bright color, quirky shapes and the use of unusual materials. He wants his designs to be mass-produced and relatively affordable but on the other hand, he wants them to last. Many of his designs can be identified by his repeated use of particular shapes and forms e.g. the horn shape, the squiggle (also known as the ‘sperm’) frame and teardrop shapes. His designs tend to look curvaceous and are smoothly textured. They are very tactile and ‘stroke-able’. From the largest to the smallest item, they have an aerodynamic appearance.
