. principals, Jesse Carrier and Mara Miller, are a husband and wife design duo with a combined total of 30 years experience working with New York’s premier design firms before opening their own in 2005.
Using a confident mix of history, contemporary design, comfort and grace the designer couple is able to achieve interiors that are chic and timeless — both familiar and fresh at once. A truly personalized interior takes shape when client’s collections, artwork, heirlooms, taste and personality are incorporated into the design.
Always refined and sophisticated, the Carriers’ rooms often feature subtle patterns and neutral palettes punctuated by bursts of exuberance and unexpected mixes of high and low, old and new. Whether decorating a sprawling country house or a Tribeca loft, a winter home in Florida or an apartment in a converted New York printing house, the Carriers connect people with place.
Ultimately, their interiors are not just spaces for living, but living spaces — and by grounding them in layers of color and texture, Carrier and Company produces highly detailed, yet comfortable and personalized spaces.
In September 2015 Jesse and Mara published their own beautifully illustrated book “Positively Chic Interiors” that very well shows why the Carriers are the designers of choice for so many of the country’s most discriminating arbiters of taste.
Their portfolio includes several projects for very well known personalities, such as Anna Wintour, Bob Pittman, Jane Rosenthal, Catie and Donald Marron, Jay Fielden, Jason Wu and Annie Leibovitz to name a few. Their work has been published in Elle Decor, The World of Interiors, Vogue, Traditional Home, Town and Country, W, and House Beautiful .
